November 6, 2025Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry's leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components™, broadens its portfolio of solutions that meet the unique technical requirements of wearable electronic devices.

The wearables market is experiencing rapid growth, fuelled by increasing adoption of smart devices in a diverse range of sectors, including medical, consumer, and industrial systems. Simultaneously, for engineers, there is an ever-increasing demand to incorporate more functionality in smaller, sleeker devices with longer battery life. This drives the need for compact, low-power components, from near-field communication (NFC) and wireless modules to chip antennas and ultra-low-power micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) accelerometers, that enable seamless integration and enhanced capabilities. These components are essential for engineers developing smarter, more feature-rich, and energy-efficient wearables across healthcare, smart home, industrial IoT, personal mobility, and Extended Reality (XR) applications.

Mouser offers a range of new products that are suitable for wearable devices, including the following:

  • Offering a dual-interface design, the NBT2000 OPTIGA™ NBT NFC Bridge Tag from Infineon Technologies simplifies secure, high-speed communication between microcontroller units (MCUs) and NFC-enabled devices, and is suited for functions such as device pairing and the configuration of smart wearable devices. Featuring a passive NFC interface alongside an I²C target interface, the bridge tag enables ultra-fast data exchange with minimal system overhead. It can operate either powered solely by the NFC field or via an external supply, offering design flexibility across a wide range of applications. With its high on-chip capacitance, compact packaging, and integrated functionality, the NBT2000 reduces Bill of Materials (BOM) while enabling smaller antenna designs.
  • Delivering tri-band connectivity in a compact form factor, the Type 2FY Wireless Connectivity Module from Murata enables reliable Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® LE 5.4 performance for wearable and IoT The module supports BLE alongside 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz Wi-Fi bands, enabling reliable, high-throughput wireless performance across diverse environments, balancing performance with low energy consumption. Measuring only 7.9mm × 7.3mm × 1.1mm, the Type 2FY is well-suited for space-constrained designs without compromising connectivity. With support for Linux and i.MX Yocto environments, the Type 2FY accelerates the development of smart wearable devices and XR platforms, including augmented reality and virtual reality applications.
  • Designed for compact wireless systems, the AANI-CH Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi Chip Antennas from Abracon provide high-performance connectivity in miniaturised ceramic packages. The series includes two variants: a 5mm × 2mm × 2mm package with a 2.7dBi peak gain and -1.3dB (75%) average total efficiency, and a 1.6mm × 0.8mm × 0.4mm package with a 1.1dBi peak gain and -3.1dB (49%) average total efficiency. Both feature PCB corner-mount integration, low return loss, and stable operation across -40°C to +85°C, making them ideal for Bluetooth, Zigbee®, Thread, Matter, and Wi‑Fi communication. Their small form factor and performance support compact consumer hearables, wearable medical devices, smart home and building systems, asset tracking, and telematics.
