Mouser Spotlights Power Management Solutions in New eBook from Analog Devices
October 8, 2025 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, today announces a new eBook in collaboration with Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI), exploring the challenges of designing effective power management solutions for modern digital devices.
With more and more products requiring digital processing controlled by microcontrollers, processors, and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), power supply design must also evolve efficiently and safely to support diverse, high-performance applications. In Power Management: Efficiently Powering Processors, FPGAs, and Microcontrollers, engineers from ADI and other technology companies offer their perspectives on how ADI is helping meet the growing demands for high-density power management, with more voltage rails, cables, innovative battery solutions, and even energy harvesting. ADI offers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions that help realize these goals, many of which are highlighted in the eBook.
The LT8627SP synchronous step-down regulator, featuring ADI's Silent Switcher® 3 technology, offers an ultralow noise design, ultralow EMI emissions, and ultrafast transient response with a high-gain error amplifier. The device's 16-amp current rating makes it ideal for multiphase buck configuration in high-current, noise-sensitive applications. The innovative architecture of Silent Switcher 3 technology provides a small 15 ns on-time, allowing the LT8627SP to easily operate at a switching frequency >1 MHz, which benefits the ripple, size, noise, and bandwidth.
The MAX16165 and MAX16166 4-channel sequencer and supervisors are designed to monitor up to five voltages and sequence up to four voltages. These devices provide an adjustable delay as each supply is turned on, and each power supply voltage is monitored. Output options available are open-drain (MAX16165) and push-pull (MAX16166). The MAX16165 and MAX16166 can be daisy-chained to control any number of voltages in a system.
The LT3074 dropout linear regulator is a low-voltage, low-noise, ultrafast transient response regulator with a PMBus serial interface. The device's wide bandwidth and high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) enable the use of small ceramic capacitors and few external components, saving bulk capacitance and simplifying circuit design. The LT3074 also incorporates a voltage input-to-output control (VIOC) to manage the upstream switching regulator to maintain a constant voltage across the device, minimizing power dissipation.
The LTM4700 µModule® regulator combines high power with energy-efficient performance to help reduce data center infrastructure cooling requirements. The device is a dual 50 A or single 100 A step-down DC/DC regulator solution that incorporates fast analog control loops, precision mixed-signal circuitry, power MOSFETs, inductors and supporting components. The module's innovative heatsink packaging technology enables increased server density and boosts data center throughput and computational power with minimal impact on system size and cooling costs. The µModule's architecture allows system designers to combine up to eight devices, delivering up to 800 A of load current to meet the higher power needs of data center processors, including FPGAs, ASICs, GPUs and microcontrollers.
