Texas Instruments LV3842 Synchronous Step-Down DC-DC Converter
Texas Instruments LV3842 Synchronous Step-Down DC-DC Converter is an easy-to-use converter that drives up to 600mA load current. With a wide input range of 4V to 36V, the device is designed for various industrial applications for power conditioning from an unregulated source. The LV3842 employs a 1.1MHz switching frequency for small solution size. The LV3842 also has an FPWM (forced PWM) version to achieve a small output voltage ripple over the full load range and constant frequency. Soft-start and compensation circuits are employed internally to allow the device to be used with a minimum of external components.
The device has built-in protection features, such as hiccup mode short-circuit protection, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal shutdown in case of excessive power dissipation. The Texas Instruments LV3842 is available in the SOT-23-6 package.
