ROHM Semiconductor MSL0402RGBU RGB LED

ROHM Semiconductor MSL0402RGBU RGB LED is an ultra-compact, reflector-type, 3-color LED optimized for devices such as matrix light sources for gaming and wearables. The MSL0402RGBU LED is offered in the ultra-compact 1816 (0706) package that allows high-density mounting and provides excellent color mixing characteristics, ensuring support for high-resolution LED matrices. The reflector-type design of the device significantly increases forward-facing brightness with minimal leakage in the lateral direction.

Matrix light sources must protect against electrostatic discharge (ESD) to prevent unnecessary light emission. Unlike conventional ESD protection solutions that use a Zener diode, the MSL0402RGBU employs an element with high ESD resistance. This component enables superior ESD protection without using a Zener diode and prevents the light emission of unnecessary blocks in matrix circuits.

To minimize brightness degradation and increase long-term application reliability, the ROHM Semiconductor MSL0402RGBU LED also incorporates a gold-plated substrate that prevents sulfuration, even when silicon resin packages are used.
