NXP Semiconductors Layerscape Freeway FRWY-LS1046A Evaluation Boards

NXP Semiconductors Layerscape Freeway FRWY-LS1046A Evaluation Boards are edge computing platforms that support QorIQ® LS1046A architecture processors. Edge computing is a distributed computing paradigm that brings computer data storage closer to the location where it is needed. The boards' EdgeScale feature provides a solution for device and application management that embeds security from the hardware root of trust to the applications layer. The platform can enable various applications, including artificial intelligence/machine learning (AL/ML) with facial recognition, industrial gateway, smart building gateway, and wireless gateway. The NXP boards have three platform options: FRWY-LS1046A-AC, FRWY-LS1046A-PA, and FRWY-LS1046A-TP. The FRWY-LS1046A-AC is presented in an enclosure and includes a plug-in IEEE802.11ac Wi-Fi® module to connect to a mobile device or PC. The FRWY-LS1046A-PA is the bare board, and the FRWY-LS1046A-TP configuration includes coral acceleration. This FRWY-LS1046A-TP variant has an AI/ML acceleration due to the Coral TPU module and supports up to 3 additional TPU modules.
