Nuvoton NuMicro® M480 Ethernet Microcontrollers
Nuvoton NuMicro® M480 Ethernet Microcontrollers are embedded with an Arm® Cortex®-M4F core with secure boot and hardware cryptography, which supports DSP instructions and an integrated floating-point unit. The M480 series contains six sub-series with different characteristics and applications. The M480 MCUs supply a Flash size of up to 2560KB and an SRAM size of up to 160KB. The device has an operating frequency of up to 192MHz with 175µA/130µA/MHz dynamic power consumption, and the standby current can be as low as 1µA.The Nuvoton M480 Ethernet MCUs support secure boot functionality, which delivers a constant digital signature of system software for identification during boot-up to protect the integrity of Flash content from attack. The embedded hardware cryptography engine offers quick and easy encryption, decryption, ID certification, private key, and public key features. Additionally, the M480 features 10Mbps/100Mbps Ethernet RMII, high-speed USB 2.0 OTG, dual 12-bit 5MSPS SAR ADC, camera interface, and versatile peripherals, eligible for IoT, industrial automation, sensor networks, automotive devices, RC aircraft, smart home, network gateway, and consumer electronics.
Components
- The NuMicro M480 series consists of six sub-series:
- NuMicro M481 Base series: high performance, low power consumption, versatile high-speed UART/SPI/I2C/PWM peripherals, eligible for a data collector.
- NuMicro M482 USB FS OTG series: This series features an integrated USB 2.0 full-speed interface with an on-chip OTG PHY, making it eligible for gaming or PC accessories.
- NuMicro M483 CAN series: Integrated 2 or 3 sets of CAN 2.0B interfaces, two sets of USB 2.0 interfaces, dual ADC, and up to 9 sets of UART interfaces, eligible for IoV and industrial control.
- NuMicro M484 USB HS OTG series: It integrates two sets of USB 2.0 interfaces with op-chip full-speed and high-speed OTG PHY, making it eligible for a data concentrator of USB sensors.
- NuMicro M485 Crypto series: Integrated hardware cryptography engine and random number generator for randomly fabricating the data encryption/decryption and certification key, eligible for fingerprint module, smart payment, and secure USB device.
- NuMicro M487 Ethernet series: This series features an integrated 10Mbps/100Mbps Ethernet MAC with an industrial-standard RMII interface for quickly implementing a network connection. It is eligible for industrial IoT gateways, UART-to-Ethernet converters, industrial automation, smart homes, etc.
