Micron DDR5 SDRAM

Micron DDR5 SDRAM enables server workloads by delivering more than an 85% increase in memory performance. These modules increase bandwidth performance gains in data centers that require the performance advantages of DDR5 to maintain available bandwidth per CPU core. Micron DDR5 SDRAM, along with the additional compute, are instrumental in extracting value and insight from the mounds of data being generated today.

Features

  • Duty cycle adjuster (DCA) circuit capable of adjusting DQ and DQS duty cycles for read path internally
  • DQS interval oscillator circuit allows controller to monitor changes in DQS clock tree delays caused by shifts in voltage and temperature
  • Read training patterns with dedicated mode registers
  • Improved training modes, including read preamble training mode, command and address training mode, chip select training mode, and write leveling training mode
  • Internal reference voltages for command and address pins (VREFCA) and chip select pin (VREFCS)

Advantages of Migrating to DDR5

DDR5 is the most recent evolution in DRAM, bringing a robust list of features geared to increase reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS), reduce power, and dramatically improve performance. Some of the key feature differences between DDR4 and DDR5 are below.
