Broadcom AEAT-9966 Dual Chip Magnetic Encoder ICs

Broadcom AEAT-9966 Dual Chip Magnetic Encoder ICs provide dual/redundant angular magnetic rotary sensing for accurate 360° position measurement. The device integrates two independent magnetic encoder chips into a single package. The AEAT-9966 implements Hall sensor elements with analog and digital signal processing to detect the rotational angle of a two-pole magnet.

The Broadcom AEAT-9966 Dual Chip Magnetic Encoder ICs support both absolute and incremental position outputs for motor-control, automation, and feedback applications. Absolute angle data is available with selectable and reprogrammable resolution from 10-bits to 18-bits via SSI, SPI, or PWM outputs. In contrast, incremental position data is available through ABI and UVW signals with user-configurable resolution and commutation settings.

The AEAT-9966 supports on-axis and off-axis magnetic configurations, enabling designers to adapt the device to end-of-shaft, side-of-shaft, axial, and radial sensing arrangements. The encoder IC is ideal for brushless DC motors, stepper motors, resolver and potentiometer replacement, industrial automation, robotics, industrial sewing and textile equipment, and LiDAR applications.
