The evaluation board includes the AD9508 1.65GHZ Clock Fanout Buffer and ADF4355 Microwave Wideband Synthesizer. The AD9508 provides a reference clock and SYSREF to the ADS7 and the SYSREF signal to DAC.
The evaluation software includes the ACE (Analysis, Control, Evaluation) graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI installs the DPG Downloader and AD9162 ACE SPI programmer application. The ACE SPI programmer application provides full access to AD9162's register map. The software also enables the ability to record, load, and save macros as register sequences to make programming easier. Designers can use the single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switch on the board to select whether to drive the eval board from an external or onboard clock. The AD9162-FMC-EBZ can connect to the ADS7-V1 or ADS7-V2 Pattern Generator. The ADS7 Pattern Generator automatically formats the data and sends it to the evaluation board.
