Analog Devices MAX22915EVKIT Evaluation Kit provides a proven design for evaluating the MAX22915, an 8-channel high-switch with advanced diagnostics. The evaluation kit includes the MAX22915 evaluation board, a USB Type-C® cable, and a graphical user interface (GUI) that enables communication between a PC and the evaluation kit via a USB port. The MAX22915EVKIT comes with a MAX22915AFG+ in a 50-pin 6mm × 7mm FC2QFN package, installed as U1. The evaluation kit can operate in multiple modes, including addressable SPI mode with the Analog Devices GUI, or via a PMOD connector to interface with external MCUs and firmware, and daisy-chained SPI mode through two PMOD connectors with multiple devices connected in a daisy chain.
The GUI is compatible with Windows® 11 for exercising the features of the MAX22915 digital output. The evaluation kit software provides access to the full register map and diagnostic data, enabling individual control of the eight high-side switches. The evaluation kit software retrieves all diagnostic information from the MAX22915, including per-channel open-wire conditions, with outputs on, off, or switching at up to 131Hz. Other diagnostic information includes the status of output channels, supply undervoltage alerts, global and per-channel overload alarms, temperature warnings, and other global fault alarms. In addition, the evaluation kit software configures the internal 7-bit ADC and executes continuous, on-demand, or single measurements on supply voltage, per-channel load current, or chip temperature.
The Analog Devices MAX22915EVKIT must be powered from an external +24V power supply and can consume up to 8A (typ.) when fully loaded. The USB2GPIO interface, as well as the digital galvanic isolation, is powered from the USB-C port. A single TVS diode on VDD protects all output channels against ±1kV/42Ω IEC 61000-4-5 surge transients. The MAX22915EVKIT is specified to operate normally with its enhanced noise immunity to IEC 61000-4-4 EFT and IEC 61000-4-6 conducted RF. Windows-based GUI software is available for use with the evaluation kit and can be downloaded from the Analog Devices website (login account required). Windows 10 or later is required to use the evaluation kit software.
