TFI 20 / 150 / 300 Power Line Surge Filters

TRACO Power TFI series Power Line Surge Filters are available with 20W, 150W, and 300W ratings. When placed in front of any DC/DC converter, the TFI filter clamps momentary over-voltage transients to a safe value, protecting the converter from being damaged. During normal operation, the output voltage follows the input voltage (V_out = V_in - 2V_DC typ.) up to 168V_DC where the voltage is actively clamped. The TFI surge filters from TRACO Power handle the strict definition laid out in the RIA12 standard, allowing transients up to 20ms at 385V_DC. This level of protection is specifically required in railway applications where high voltage transients are expected but can also be used for 72V_DC, 96V_DC, and 110V_DC battery systems in railway applications.
