The ROHM Semiconductor AEC-Q100 qualified ICs consist of power management ICs and Intelligent Power Devices (IPDs) with smart low-side or high-side switch ICs. The IPDs have several advantages over mechanical relays. The devices have better protection and recovery function from an electrical short and offer FIT (Failure In Time) rate improvement by a non-mechanical approach.
