TRS™ Thermal Reed Switches

KEMET Electronics TRS™ Thermal Reed Switches are highly reliable, precise temperature-sensitive switches ideal for energy conservation. These reed switches are composed of a magnet and a temperature-sensing soft ferromagnetic substance called Thermorite®. The TRS switches are available in both molded shape (M-TRS5) and blank shape(TRS5).

Thermostats

KEMET Thermostats include TRS™ thermal reed sensors and OHD™ thermal guard sensors. TRS sensors are highly reliable, precise temperature-sensitive switches ideal for energy conservation, with an operating temperature tolerance of ±2.5°C. These reed switches are composed of a magnet and a temperature-sensing soft ferromagnetic substance called Thermorite®, and are available in both a metal case (TRS) and a molded case (M-TRS5). The TRS-P1 and TRS-P2 types feature a screw-mount design, making it easy to set up in the application by simply screwing into the device that needs temperature detection or overheat monitoring. OHD guard sensors are designed for thermal problem countermeasures and safety standard conformity for electronic devices. KEMET OHD sensor series offers high-speed response and provides a wide range of operating temperatures available in 5°C increments from +30°C to +120°C.

Current and Thermal Sensors

KEMET has a large selection of Current Sensors and Thermal Sensors available. The current sensors are used to measure the amount of current flowing in a circuit. These sensors are based on proprietary magnetic materials and are available as low or high alternating current transformers and zero-phase transformers. KEMET's thermal sensors can be used to make or break an electrical connection when a defined threshold temperature is reached. These sensors are typically used to shut down electrical equipment in monitoring, heater controls, and automotive electric fan applications.
