Commercial & Automotive KPS High-Voltage MLCCs

KEMET Commercial and Automotive High-Voltage MLCCs utilize a proprietary lead-frame technology to vertically stack one or two multilayer ceramic chip capacitors into a single compact surface-mount package. The attached lead frame mechanically isolates the capacitor(s) from the printed circuit board (PCB), providing advanced mechanical and thermal stress performance. Isolation also addresses concerns for audible microphonic noise that may occur when a bias voltage is applied. A two-chip stack offers up to double the capacitance in the same or smaller design footprint compared to traditional surface-mount MLCC devices.

KPS Flex Mitigation MLCCs

KEMET KPS Flex Mitigation MLCCs offer a 10VDC to 630VDC voltage range, up to 47µF capacitance, and a reliable, robust termination system. These KEMET Power Solutions (KPS) stacked capacitors utilize proprietary lead-frame technology to vertically stack one or two multilayer ceramic chip capacitors into a single compact surface-mount package. KPS Flex Mitigation MLCCs are ideal for commercial applications, and some meet AEC-Q200 qualifications.

Automotive-Grade MLCCs

KEMET Automotive-Grade Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitors (MLCCs) are suited for a variety of applications that require reliable operation. These surface-mount MLCCs undergo a strict testing protocol and inspection criteria, making them suitable for harsh environmental conditions. The automotive-grade capacitors have a maximum operating temperature of 150°C. These MLCCs meet AEC-Q200 requirements and are manufactured in state-of-the-art ISO/TS 16949:2002-certified facilities.

Commercial & Automotive Flex Mitigation Solutions

KEMET Commercial and Automotive Flex Mitigation Solutions offer a variety of flex mitigation solutions designed to reduce the risk of flex cracks. Flexible termination (FT-CAP) multilayer ceramic capacitors incorporate a unique, flexible termination system that is integrated with the KEMET standard termination materials. A conductive silver epoxy is utilized between the base metal and nickel barrier layers of KEMET’s standard termination system in order to establish pliability while maintaining terminal strength, solderability, and electrical performance.
